The Tuggles had so many books, they didn't know what to do! Fortunately, their local woodworker had just the answer to their dilemma with this custom designed, built-in set of bookcases with space in the center for their antique, roll top desk.
A built-in should be part of the room, not apart from it.
This example takes advantage of an oddly-shaped space and creates functional beauty.
This great room mantle features an upper surround to incorporate a flat-screen TV.
The small niches on either side are recessed into the wall to provide ample space for components and media.
Another example of how a built-in can utilize an odd wall space. The right side is 20" deep and houses a 32" TV behind
pocket doors, audio-video components and built-in media storage.
Oak frame & panel walls, and mantle with arch and keystone bring Craftsman style warmth
into this once ordinary room.
This "man cave" started with a picture from a catalogue of a small 84" bar with two stools.
I refined the design with frame & panel constructions, a matching built-in bar back with recessed lighting
and oak tongue and groove wainscotting. The decor is all Pat's, the happy homeowner.
